ABOUT ALEXIA
Alexia Markopoulos: Artist, Writer, Rockstar
Alexia Markopoulos was born with a pen in her hand. She is an artist, a writer, and a cat mom. Graduating with a BA in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University taught her the technical, complex and entertaining art of storytelling. She remained on the Dean's list of SFSU for three of the four years and worked as the assistant editor on her college literary magazine. Living as an art teacher and copywriter in Los Angeles taught her to look at art in a myriad of ways and grow as an artist. In a city like LA, she was exposed to many different forms of art, including film, where she worked (and continues to work) with directors on their artistic vision. She draws comics, animates, paints portraits, writes fiction and manages to find time to sing with her old guitar. Despite her successes of several published short stories, having her character artwork featured on Comedy Central, and storyboarding a short film all before the age of 30, Alexia remains humble. Most days you can find her drawing on her blue velvet couches surrounded by a family of two cats and 26 plants.
